Acquiescence defines the normal traditinal art setting. This exhibition will explore the grander profound dominace of art, artmaking and the exploration of Big Bold art. This work in intended to disrupt the environment that exist around itself. (that itself will make interesting communications to cuarrate).- Christopher -Aaron Deanes
This show will focus on multi-disciplinary theories of race, class gender, ethnicity, equality, empowerment, and other related topics that these artists are dealing with in their perspective works. Sponsored by the TAWU (The Art Within Us) Artist Group, BIG BLAQ represents A NEW salon presented to our communities in a venue that is likening to a gathering of people of color where there is an exploration of African American contemporary art and culture. This salon is being presented to a community who doesn’t regularly participate in visiting traditional galleries, thus this new salon is being presented to them, BIG BLAQ.

The TAWU Artist Group
TAWU (The Art Within Us) is a collective group of Minnesota African, African American and visual artists of color who come together to exchange ideas and experiences in making art from many different visual mediums, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media and textiles.
TAWU assist artists development, performs workshops and seeks group shows to offer artists opportunities to expose their work to larger audiences. We also have been active in seeking regional and national opportunities for exposure.
TAWU artists have their own identity and are in charge of individual businesses and or art careers. It is our goal to be a conduit for artists of color to realize and fulfill their desire to create art with the support from like-minded souls who share the same creative goals. We stay connected by networking, improving our skills and staying informed.
